Lately Kaden stares and stares at the metal decoration above the T.V. He doesn't know if he is scared or if he likes it. So funny!

Memorial Day
We had a great Memorial Day yesterday! We started the day off by going to Lowes to get flowers and yard stuff. It was project day! Trey had several things he wanted to fix and do in the yard. Aubrey and I planted flowers and went for pizza at lunch. We all had a pizza picnic in the driveway. After naps our neighbors came over to play in the pool. So fun! Then we headed over to the Wheats for a cookout. The group was there and the kids had a blast playing outside. Such a great day!! Truly blessed and thankful for those that have sacrificed so much so we can enjoy days like today!
First and last day of school 2012/2013
Aubrey had another great year at Sante Fe day school! She is growing up too fast! Her teacher Miss Jessica told me one day a few months ago that Aubrey always does a great job. She said they use her as the class example for how the other kids should obey. I am so proud!

32!!
I had a wonderful birthday today! Trey and I took Kaden and Aubrey for birthday donuts! We then went home to enjoy a lazy and rainy day. We made a blanket fort, had Old School for lunch, took a nap and enjoyed lots of snuggles! We met family for dinner and then enjoyed some cake. Trey picked out a yummy Red Velvet cake for me! Delicious! Aubrey and Kaden helped me blow out ALL of the candles. Such a great day! Feeling blessed!

Aubrey's Dance Recital
Aubrey had her first dance recital yesterday. She did great and looked absolutely beautiful! We were so proud! It was a crazy weekend leading up to the recital though. The dress rehearsal and dance pictures were last Friday and the recital was supposed to be on Sunday.
Sunday, Aubrey and I got to the church and I got her all ready with all of the other dancers and moms. My parents, sister, Trey, Trey's parents and Brandon and Kim were all going to be there. Most of them got to the church and got to their seats. They got there early to get good seats too. I sent Aubrey off to wait backstage and went and sat with my family. About ten minutes before the recital was supposed to start the announcement was made that we all needed to go to bathrooms and classrooms because of a tornado warning. What?! Crazy! I hate tornadoes! We waited for about 45 minutes as a really big tornado went right by us! You could see it out of the windows from the church. It went past us with no damage but because the power was out we could no longer have the recital. It was rescheduled for Monday, the next day. I was so sad because Trey had a trip Monday and would not get to be there.
The next day was horrible! The worst tornado in history smashed through Moore Oklahoma. It leveled the whole town and killed many! Two elementary schools were destroyed. One was demolished and had kids and teachers inside. So many lives and homes lost. We will never forget May 20th!
The recital was again rescheduled because many families could not get there because of the traffic due to the storm. My parents, who had gone home the night before, were heading back for the show...again! They got to El Reno and turned around when I told them it was cancelled again. We finally had the recital on Tue. Trey was still on a work trip and Jan and Terry had to make a work trip back to Liberal. They were so sad to miss it! My parents headed back to Edmond for the third time and I got Aubrey ready and we headed up to the church. Trey called about 45 minutes before the recital was supposed to start and said he got home early and would be there if the traffic would break up. He was slow moving in the Moore traffic heading home from the airport. I was so happy he was going to be there! Everyone got to be there except Tony and Jan and Terry. We will have a video party for them later!
Aubrey did such a great job and looked so beautiful! I was so proud to be her momma! We all gave her flowers after her dance, took pictures and then went home. Aubrey and I stopped off at Sonic first for a strawberry milkshake! Every hard working ballerina needs one of those! Good job Aubrey! We love you!

Kadens surgery.
Yesterday Kaden had to have a procedure called an Orcheoplexy done. One of his testicles didn't descend when he was developing. I was a nervous wreck because he had to be under anesthesia. I was also nervous because he couldn't eat or drink after midnight the night before. I was worried he would wake up hungry and be super cranky until our appointment at 9:30. I asked everyone to be praying for those two things. God is good! Everything went great! He slept well the night before and didn't cry once as we drove to the hospital, waited in the waiting room, got checked in, etc. He did so good! He was the cutest little patient. We thought his left testicle was non functioning, maybe twisted and would be removed but the doctors found and pulled down a healthy functioning one! Good news! Thank you Lord! Recovery was rough on Kaden as he came out of anesthesia. He was really tired and super cranky! We did our best to comfort him the rest of the day. Today he is still sleepy but much happier. So glad that's over with!
Catching a breeze
My mom carries a fan with her most places. In case she gets hot she is prepared. Aubrey likes to play with her fan and so when I saw a pink one at the store I thought Aubrey had to have her own. When I gave it to her she said, mom I need to o outside and catch a breeze! So cute!

Garage sale
This past Saturday we put some stuff in our neighborhood garage sale. Well, Jan and I put a few things in and Jennifer put a lot of stuff in. We had a good time. Aubrey really had a blast setting up, talking to "customers" and going through all the sale items. She even set up a little table by herself and kept saying she had work to do. So cute!!

Let Me Hold You Longer!
As I rock Kaden before his morning nap I can't help but think about the book, Let Me Hold You Longer. It's about all the "lasts" with our kids that we don't know at the time are our "lasts." Time is going by so fast and I want to soak this sweet moment up before Kaden is too big to rock...
